Sterling Silver 18th Century French Wax Seal - I Am Wounded by You
In pre Victorian France, love was not softened or simplified. It was understood as devotion that could wound, longing that could pierce the heart.
This antique French seal dates to the late 1700s, a time when letters carried everything we now say in a lifetime. The inscription translates to “I am wounded by you,” a phrase meant not as accusation, but as truth because to love deeply was to risk pain.
Pressed into warm wax, this seal once closed letters meant for only one person. Its heart, struck by arrows and crowned with light, speaks of vulnerability, fidelity, and the bravery it takes to love without armor.
We cast this piece in honor of that sentiment: that love is not perfect, but it is powerful and worth carrying.
The sterling silver pendant is 7/8”. You may choose the length of the sterling silver chain you would like.
